30 Years Ago This Week, U2 Stopped Traffic in LA with a Surprise Outdoor Performance

As part of the launch for The Joshua Tree, U2 set up on the roof of a liquor store at 7th and Main in downtown Los Angeles. The result was a Beatles-like spectacle that fans still talk about. Some new footage from the event on March 27, 1987, was released this week. Nice mullet on Bono, too. (Thanks to Michael for the link.)
