A Bunch of Unreleased Nirvana Songs Have Suddenly Appeared

We’ve been told time and time again that the vaults are empty and that the the last great Nirvana song will forever be “You Know You’re Right.” Well, maybe that’s not right.

For no reason anyone can tell, fourteen previously unreleased Nirvana songs have appeared online. None have the polish of finished studio recordings–they’re pretty much all outtakes, demos and alternate takes–but, hey, we’ll take ’em, right?

The original posts have disappeared but as we all know, the Internet is forever. Here’s are some samples.

“Here She Comes Now” (Alt mix). The Velvet Underground cover, recorded sometime between April 2-6, 1990 Smart Studios, Madison , Wisconsin with Butch Vig. Chad Channing is still the drummer.

“Seasons In The Sun” (Alt. Mix): Hardcore bootleg collections know about this one, recorded in January 19-21, 1993 at Ariola BMG Studios, Rio de Janeiro.

“Heart Shaped Box” (Instrumental): Recorded with Steve Albini at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, sometime between February 12 and 26, 1993. Note the different solo.

Find all the tracks here. Happy listening.
