The Beach Boys Didn’t Need No Stinkin’ Auto Tune

The problem with today’s recording technology is that it’s used to make performances absolutely perfect. Anyone’s croaking can be tweaked into having a perfect singing voice, regardless of their natural talent with the right gear and software.

But let’s go back to what the Beach Boys were doing in the middle 60s. With no way to fix things in the mix, they had to be perfect from the get-go. Take a listen to these isolated vocals. Wow.
