Blink-182 cancels some Las Vegas shows because of Travis Barker’s blood clots
When you’re diagnosed with having blood clots somewhere in your body, you do NOT mess around. If a piece of one manages to break off and circulate through your heart, lungs, or brain, you could be in deep, deep trouble.
Travis Barker of blink-182, a very hard and energetic drummer, is feeling the effects of his playing style. A couple of the band’s Las Vegas residency shows had to be canceled because doctor’s don’t want Travis playing with blood clots in his arms. Here’s a statement from the band:
Friends, Travis Barker is suffering from blood clots in both arms and unfortunately cannot perform until cleared to do so by his medical team. The situation is currently being closely monitored. Due to this situation, it is with great regret that the blink-182 ‘Kings of the Weekend’ Las Vegas residency dates this weekend must be rescheduled.
No one is sure if Travis will be able to play in Vegas next weekend. That’ll be up to those clots.
Much of the human body was just not engineered for drumming. Ask Phil Collins, Neil Peart, or any number of famous drummers that have had their careers ended by physical problems with their wrists, arms, shoulders and lower back.
