Dave Grohl wants to “Play.” Watch now.

Dave Grohl can’t sit still. Here’s that 23-minute one-man thing called “Play” that we’ve been hearing about for the last couple of weeks. Having visited the Foos’ 606 Studios in Van Nuys, California, I can tell you that the place must be a playground for every member of the band–especially Dave.

The video makes the case for not just taking music lessons but applying yourself to become proficient on a musical instrument–or a number of them. And then five Daves walk into the studio and start playing. Nice editing, whoever did this.

Carve out some time for this. And as you watch, remember that Dave used to be written off as “just the drummer” in Nirvana. You can also listen here.
