Kickstart your career with the RBC Emerging Musician Program

Time to attach the jumper cables your career! Are you a musician in need of an influx of cash? Do you need money for new instruments and hardware that will take your sound to the next level? Or maybe your band just has a banging track lying around that you don’t know what to do with. Fear not, for these problems all have one very enticing solution: the 2018 RBC Emerging Musician Program! Launched by Canada’s Walk of Fame, this is a great opportunity for budding musicians to inject their career with some pizzaz.

From now until July 15th, you can sign up here to submit an original song for a chance to win some crazy good prizes. The grand prize winner will receive $20,000 in cash, introductions to music industry executives and established artists, recording time in a private studio, album cover art design, an invitation to the 2018 Canada’s Walk of Fame Gala and the opportunity to perform at Canada’s Walk of Fame event. In case you hadn’t noticed, that’s a lot of things.

But it’s not just 1st place that gets the glory! Second place will receive $6000 and three other winners will be rewarded $4000 dollars each. On top of that, every winner gets the chance to learn from industry professionals as part of the mentorship program. Best of all, every winner will be performing live in Toronto at the RBC Emerging Musician Showcase in Toronto later this year.

The best part is entering is so easy. If you’re serious about being a musician, this is the time to hike up those performing pants for your submission. All you have to do is submit a fully original video or audio recording of yours or your band’s song. Then you wait and hope for the good news. If you’re having trouble finding that creative spark to sit down and record, perhaps $20000 is incentive enough to put together a submission. It definitely worked for me.
