  • That’s more like it! The CBC call for entries described the ideal entry thusly: “The Winning Song must be a ‘rock, pop or adult alternative’ song with a vocal performance and a verse/chorus construction. The Winning Song must be energetic and build excitement for a game that is about to begin.” and the eventual winner, although a fine hockey song, was more of a jaunty folk tune. Classick didn’t even make Top 10, so methinks the judges and the CBC saw the contest differently from each other, but no matter; the network now has a pool of great hockey tunes to cut the HNIC opening to!
