Laura Leebove is a 20-something music-and-food lover living in Brooklyn who, when she’s not editing stuff for eMusic, likes to work in the kitchen.

For the past year, she’s been on sort of a Julie and Julia quest, working through her music collection to create recipes inspired by the music.  Her site, Eating the Beats, chronicles her obession with food and music.

When I checked today, the featured recipe was butternut squash panckaes and maple-goat cheese sauce. The inspiration is a Brookyn band called Pearl and the Beard and their cover of a Bon Iver song entitled “Re: Stacks.”  (Stacks = pancakes, geddit?)

I’m definitely going to try the Joni Mitchell-inspired tomato soup adn grilled cheese, although I’ll leave out the apple slices.  I never understand why people would want to do that to a grilled cheese…
