RIP MIkio Fujioka, Guitarist with BABYMETAL

While BABYMETAL is known for the three moppets out front, the back end of the band features some formidable metal musicians.

Sadly, Mikio Fujioka, one of the guitarists in the group, has died at 36. Fans of BABYMETAL know him as Ko-Gami, which means “The Little God,”

Fujioka died from injuries sustained from falling from a high observation deck while stargazing back on December 30. Further details of the accident–the location and the name of the observation deck–are still very sketchy.

He died Saturday (January 5) after his health deteriorated. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
