The In-Person Alan Parsons Master Class

Anyone who has ever geeked out over record producing, session engineering and studio gear will know Alan Parsons.  Yes, he released a series of interesting proto-electronica records over the decades–I still listen to I, Robot quite a bit–but this is also the guy who helped Pink Floyd make sense out of Dark Side of the Moon.

That intricate found-sound pastiche at the beginning of “Money?”  That was Parsons.  And keep in mind that this was back in the days before digital technology.  What he and the band went through to achieve those effects is the stuff of legend.

Alan Parsons will be in Toronto to conduct a master class at Noble Studios on May 26. It’s an opportunity to get hands-on with the guy in one of the finest recording facilities in Canada.

There are 2 ticket options available and each one has limited seating:

Platinum Seats: Limited to 20 people ONLY! You’ll spend the day inside the control room with Alan gaining hands-on experience and assist in the production decisions. Discuss with Alan and other control room attendees options and alternatives, the pros and cons of each and see first-hand how the final product is shaped throughout the day. The price for a Platinum Seat is $800.

Gold Seats: In the comfort of the Noble Street Studios lounges, watch via closed-circuit, high definition video- feed how decisions made in the Control Room affect the final outcome. Meet with Alan at intervals throughout the day to discuss the day’s proceedings, ask questions, and get guidance from the “Best of the Best”! The price for a Gold Seat is $400.

All ticket holders will receive a free copy Alan Parsons’ 3 DVD set The Art & Science of Sound Recording (Retail Value $149.99) as well as a “By Invitation Only” ticket to a VIP Reception to be held at the end of the day. All day Refreshments, Continental Breakfast, Lunch, PLUS 2 evening “Wine/Beer” tickets & Hors D’oeuvres are also included.

Tickets are available online exclusively through www.globalmusicdepot.com
