This Turntable Plays Slices of Trees

We’ve all seen the growth rings of a tree. Artist Bartholomaus Traubeck looked at those same rings and was reminded of an LP record. “What if I could make a turntable that played those rings as if they were a slice of vinyl?” So he did.

This turntable tracks tree rings in a way that turns them into sound. The result is an infinite variety of music–as long as you don’t run out of logs. (Thanks to Gregg for the link.)
