These Adidas Come with a Built-in TR-808 Drum Machine

It used to be that sneakers just needed to keep your feet comfortable. Now, though, they’re expected to make some kind of statement.

A branding agency called Neely & Daughters has come up with a prototype of a pair of Adidas high-tops that feature a built-in TR-808 drum machine.

The 808 remains one of the most beloved of all classic beatboxes. Run- DMC used one and they loved their Adidas, too, so it made sense to combine the two. Or something like that.

The one-of-a-kind pair came with controls for volume and tempo and included programs for six different beats.

Sadly, they never made it past the prototype stage. I wonder what the MRSP would have been?
