Black Sabbath announces a massive final show with all four original members

This surprised me given Ozzy’s health problems and some lingering animosity between the four original members of Black Sabbath. Yet here we are. These four guys haven’t played together in 20 years.

Sabbaths has announced a giant show for their hometown of Birmingham this summer. Things are set for July 5 at Villa Park and this, we’re told, is the final, final, FINAL show the band will ever do. And what a show it should be. They will be joined by:

  • Metallica
  • Slayer
  • Pantera
  • Gogira
  • Alice in Chains
  • Halestrom
  • Lamb of God
  • Anthrax
  • Mastadon
  • A supergroup featuring Billy Corgan, Dave Draiman, Duff McKagan, Jonathan David, Fred durst, Scott Ian, and more. (Check out the poster below.)
  • Tom Morello will act as music director for the event.

Tickets will go on sale next Friday (February 14) at 10 am GMT. All profits will be shared between Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice, a Children’s Hospice supported by local EPL team Aston Villa.
