Did you catch the Nirvana reunion last night?

FireAid, the big dual venue event designed to raise money for victims of the LA wildfires, had a few surprises last night, the biggest of which might have been the Nirvana “reunion.”

Dave Grohl was there. So was Krist Novoselic. Pat Smear (who was touring Nirvana guitarist before the Foo Fighters were formed) appeared. Subbing in for Kurt were St. Vincent, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, Joan Jett, and Dave’s 18-year-old daughter Violet. The performance was completely unexpected.

They played four songs: “Breed” (St. Vincent on vocals), “School” (Kim Gordon), “Territorial Pissings” (Jett), and “All Apologies” (Violent Grohl).
