It’s Polaris Music Prize season again

What? Already? Yep.

Music boffins (of which I am one) from across Canada have been suggesting albums for the 2025 Polaris Music Prize since suggestions for the 2024 prize closed last May. Now it’s almost time to shut the door on nominating albums (there’s gotta be 200 already), it’s time to look at some key dates.

  • June 10 – Long List Announcement (The master list is voted upon and 40 albums survive.)
  • July 10 – Short List Announcement (There’s a vote on the Long List to reduce things to 10 finalists, Performers will also be announced at this time.)
  • September 16 – Polaris Concert & Prize Ceremony @ Massey Hall
  • October – Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize winners announced

Prepare thyself.
