New Music from the Inbox: BADBADNOTGOOD, Rollo Doherty, bibi club, and more!

Artist: Sammyfunk
Song: We Are Sammyfunk
Album: We Are Sammyfunk

Of their eclectic debut album (out now), Sammyfunk explain: “Each song on the record is sung by a totally different ‘character,’ even accents are changed freely (screw it, I say- it’s only rock n roll..) After being ‘trapped’ in a straight-up rock band for most of last decade, with this record I wanted to show some of the different sides of me as a writer/performer, some of my different vocal styles, and my eclectic music genre fandoms. Be thankful there’s no death metal on there though, cause I like that too!Hmmm ..maybe on Sammyfunk II tho…..?”

Artist: Rollo Doherty
Song: Papaya (Strings)
EP: Strings

Rollo Doherty explains: “We get so often stuck in routines and practices. I find life has a way of trying to glue us down into a monotonous rhythm and papaya is about trying to break that.” His new EP, Strings, is out now!

Listen:

Artist: she’s green
Song: Figurines

Of their new single, she’s green says: “In the setting of someone finding themselves lost at a crossroads, ‘Figurines’ depicts the distressful feelings of adolescent self-discovery. The emblem of a figurine embodies eerily familiar images of adolescence, forgotten memories that resurface with newfound significance in adulthood.”

Artist: BADBADNOTGOOD & V.C.R
Song: Found A Light (Beale Street)

Speaking on tihs new single, three-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter V.C.R. says, “This is more than a song to me, it’s a milestone. I’ve been cooking this kind of sound for years—from late nights writing at my desk in South Memphis to composing orchestral works at USC. This collaboration with BADBADNOTGOOD is a dream come true—and a thank you letter to my hometown, my people, and the communities that raised me. ‘Found A Light (Beale Street)’ isn’t just a single. It’s a love letter to the sounds of the South and the sacred art of collective resilience. It calls back to a time when Black communities turned Beale Street into a sanctuary—a place to find freedom, purpose, and light amidst the harshest of shadows. This song is a taste of everything I’ve been marinating over the past few years—academically, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s a reflection of where I come from and what I’ve been building. And it’s only the beginning.”
