New survey on how people consume music and audio

An American research company called Edison has just released a new survey on how Americans listen to music.

  • Radio still leads with a 32% share of listeners over the age of 13.
  • Streaming is second with a 28% share.
  • If the demo is narrowed to ages 13-64, streaming wins the listening race by one percentage point.
  • Music videos/music on YouTube comes third followed by satellite radio and “owned music” (your own CDs, LPs, and music files).

How does this compare with your experience? Here’s a nifty graphic.
