Ongoing History Daily: The reason Brad Delson isn’t touring with Linkin Park anymore

In 2024, Linkin Park MK 2 was launched, seven years after they lost frontman Chester Bennington. This new version of the group features a new vocalist in Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain. But there was another change, too. Guitarist Brad Delson is still with the band, but he has decided not to play live with Linkin Park anymore. Why?

In an interview with Guitar World, he said he realized that his favourite place was in the studio, an environment where he thought he really thrived. He explained to the rest of the band that this is where his greatest contributions could be made and where he could concentrate on quality control.

“I love making new things,” he said, “That’s why I decided to focus my energy on that area.”

He’s also one of the few musicians in music who wore big hearing protectors onstage, so stepping away from playing live is also good for his ears.
