Police have released video of the gun showdown with the wife of Weezer’s bass player

You may have heard the bizarre story of Jillian Lauren Shriner, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, and her confrontation with LA police. It’s all a little strange.

Cops were called to the scene of a crash following a high-speed chase. Three suspects ran from a crashed car into a residual neighbourhood. Police followed and at some point encountered Shriner in her backyard with a gun in her hand. (She was not one of the three suspects.)

Whenever the cops show up and you greet them with a drawn gun, there are going to be problems. When she refused demands to drop the gun, things escalated, especially when she apparently fired off one shot. Bad idea.

After firing the shot, Shriner went into her house and called 911 to presumably call…the police? But for some reason, she had no idea that she was calling the cops on the cops,

She claims she fired at one of the three suspects involved in the car chase. After an hour being holed up inside the house, she surrendered. Shriner was arrested for attempted murder of a police officer while also being taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. She was also then released on bail.She’s due in court tomorrow (April 30). We’ll see where this goes.
