What the F*** is Kanye doing selling swastika t-shirts?

The man is ill. Sick. The self-proclaimed Nazi and vocal antisemite is now selling t-shirts adorned with a swastika.

A commercial for Yeezy.com ran during the Super Bowl on a few local stations in several markets including Southern California. It was completely anodyne and got all the proper approvals. It featured him in a low-budget spot sitting in a dentist’s chair. He says “So what’s up, guys, I spent, like all the money for the commercial on these new teeth. So once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone. Um… um… go to yeezy.com.”

The Shopify-powered website showed the usual array of shirts, pants, jackets, and other clothing. No red flags. But once the ad aired, Kanye immediately changed the website to one that sold only one thing: A swastika T-shirt for US$20. Variety pushed this before and after pictures of the website.

Shopify has since taken down the page.

This is NOT okay. This is NOT normal. This is promotion of hate. Kanye needs to be canceled, shunned, and deplatformed. Nazis need to be punched.

More at Variety.
